Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Hey Zane for using the app, your Zane and heyzane.ai.

Effective 1 November 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Hey Zane ("Hey Zane", "we", "us") for the use of the Hey Zane mobile app, the Zane device and the website heyzane.ai (the "Services"). By using the Services you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

Zane and the Hey Zane app are offered to customers in the United States. You must be at least 18 to create an account. You must give accurate information and keep your account secure.

You sign in with your phone number and a one-time code sent by text message, or with your Apple or Google account. There is no password. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to your phone number and accounts. By entering your phone number you agree to receive one-time sign-in codes as described in our SMS Terms.

The person who sets up a Zane becomes the owner of it in the app. The owner can invite members, share a Zane with them and remove it.

A Zane can belong to only one home at a time. To give a Zane to someone else, the owner must first remove it from the app; removing it resets the device and erases its settings.

Zane needs a power socket, a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network with internet and the Hey Zane app.

Prayer times are calculated for your location with the method you choose. They are provided for convenience and may differ from your local mosque. Please check with your mosque or a qualified authority when in doubt. Quran recitations, adhkar and other content are provided in good faith; tell us at support@heyzane.ai if you notice an error.

Answers to voice requests are produced automatically and may sometimes be incomplete or wrong. Do not rely on them for decisions about health, safety, finances or religious rulings.

We update the app and the Zane software to add features and fix problems. Zane updates itself over Wi-Fi. Some features may need the latest version. We may change or stop features over time.

You agree not to:

use the Services in a way that breaks the law or harms others;

try to access accounts, devices or data that are not yours;

copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the app or the Zane software, except where the law allows;

interfere with or overload the Services, or abuse the sign-in or text-message system.

The app, the Zane software, the Hey Zane name and logo and our content belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them with your Zane for personal, non-commercial use. Recitations and other third-party content remain the property of their owners.

The Services use services from other companies, such as Apple, Google, Amazon Web Services and mobile carriers. Their own terms may also apply.

The Hey Zane app is free to download and use with your Zane.

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent allowed by law, we do not promise that the Services will always be available, error-free or that prayer times will always match a particular calendar. Zane does not play the Adhan while it has no power, while it is muted, or during quiet hours you set, and it may miss it after a long time without internet.

To the extent allowed by law, Hey Zane is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

You can stop using the Services and delete your account at any time in the app at Settings › Delete account. We may suspend or end access if you break these Terms or to protect the Services or other users.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
